Criminal Behaviour Order Arrest

Shoplifter sentenced for breaching his CBO

A prolific Evesham shoplifter has been sentenced to eight weeks after he breached the terms of his Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

Wojciech Wieczorek, aged 44 and of no fixed abode, was arrested on Monday 1 July and appeared at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Tuesday 2 July, charged with three breaches of his CBO.

Wieczorek had previously been given an eight-week sentence (suspended for 12 months) for multiple theft – shoplifting – offences, as well as breaches of his Community Protection Notice on Wednesday 25 June.

He was also given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) for two years. The CBO prohibits him from going into the following shops in Evesham: -

  • Vale Wildlife Trust Charity Shop on High Street
  • One Stop Shop on High Street
  • Home Bargains in the Riverside Shopping Centre
  • Tesco Express on Cheltenham Road
  • Spar on Pershore Road
  • Boots on Bridge Street
  • M&S on Worcester Road
  • His eight-week sentence was activated due to the breaches of his CBO conditions.

PC Matt Beards, of Evesham Town Centre Team, said: “We were granted the CBO against Wieczorek, who is known locally as ‘Red Shoes’, last week due to his prolific shoplifting and he was warned he would be going to prison if he breached it.

“That has happened now, and we will continue to bring such criminals to justice. We take crimes against retailers seriously as they have a negative impact on the businesses in our town and ultimately can impact the customers too as costs to retailers increase.”
